This tract is located on the edge of town in Choudrant, LA and has merchantable pine and hardwood sawtimber along most of the higher ground. The lower acreage is flooded most of the year due to prolonged beaver activity. This provides good habitat for deer and small game as well as areas for wood duck use.
Though it's on the edge of town, the tract has a secluded feel due to the railroad tracks along the north boundary that eliminate vehicle traffic. The frontage along a highway on the west side is another buffer to traffic since that portion of the tract is in a cypress brake.
The easiest way to get on the tract and hunt it will be at points on the north boundary where you can walk across the railroad tracks and enter the woods in several areas. One spot is noted on the aerial with a yellow line.
The current owners have cut some timber in the past and hauled it out the east side across an adjoining landowner and out to Walker road. Future timber harvests would likely have to use this route. A timber cruise was performed in 12-2025 and can be made available.
